It was turning out to be a beautiful day. Beautiful in the sense of what Tye had in mind. The humans of Forks were scattering around the tiny little shopping district, trying to remain as dry as possible. The rain had started off as a light sprinkle. Then as the day worn on, the rain pounded harder and harder onto the ground, the cars and trucks, the rooftops of Forks. Sunlight was obsolete. Dark gray rainclouds covered the entire skyline. Smiling to himself as he opened the door and headed out of the store, he placed the hood of his black hoodie sweatshirt over his head; pretending to fear the rain like the mortals did. He hadn't put much thought into his woredore, but he had been reminded by his "father" Addison that it would be cold today, so he needed to dress appropriately.
There wasn't much to do in Forks, but he had been instructed by Addison to take a little tour of the small town. In between Newton's Outfitters and the Diner was a small little Mom and Pop hardware store, and so he had wanted to check it out. They did have quality tools and things to better one's car, but it wasn't like the things he was used to. Most of his shopping was done by Alayna, at least his clothes were approved by her first, but when it came to his cars, Tye was an expert and he knew exactly what he wanted. The owners were nice and they seemed to know enough about cars, household appliances and electronic gadgets, but not nearly enough for Tye Averill's standards.
As he exited the store, he saw a small little gazebo that no one was sitting in due to the rain. It was completely protected from the elements, but he sensed that the mortals wouldn't exactly be jumping up and down at the prospect of sitting outside in the cold and in the rain. Reaching the gazebo in his humanly stride--not too fast, but not too slow--he removed his hood and sat down on the bench.

[OOC – Heya. ^^ I wanted to try my hand at my new re-vamped human. If you don’t want to RP with her, that’s just fine. Just thought I’d try!]
“Shawn! Come back!” Rain in Forks wasn’t unusual, but to a three year old, it was an invitation to hop in puddles. Puddles usually close to the road. Shawn squealed out a manic giggle as he tore down the sidewalk, his mother in hot pursuit. When in public, Midori was fairly sure that the general consensus would be that she was babysitting. But when she picked up her son and nuzzled his cheek to hers, that view changed. In a small town like Forks, of course, there were rumours. Rumours that her older brother tried his hardest to dispel. For the record, she wasn’t one to sleep around. One night stands were hard to have when you only had one shot of experience in the bedroom, and it wasn’t by choice. Today had started out as a shopping trip. But with a toddler, it was difficult to get much of anything done. Especially when said three year old was fascinated by puddles.
Midori managed to grab Shawn’s hand just before he leaped off the sidewalk and into the puddle. “Shawn! Mommy said to be careful.” The little boy glanced up with an impish smile on his face. Midori grinned down at him and picked him up, nestling him on her hip. “What am I going to do with you?” Shawn just grinned back and shrugged. “Okay, we still need to get Uncle Zach his junk.” Mii fished the shopping list out of the pocket of her dark green raincoat. Cold weather wasn’t unusual at all. She was bundled up in layers consisting of a t-shirt, hoodie, and rain coat. Her jeans were thoroughly soaked, and clinging to her legs. At least Shawn was warm, bundled in a fleece sweater and his own raincoat. And his bright yellow rubber boots. “Can we buy ice cream?” Shawn questioned, patting his mother’s cheek. Mii smiled and nuzzled her nose against his. “Only if my boy can walk nicely beside Mommy.” She set Shawn back on his feet.
Big mistake.
No sooner had she put him down that he took off again, this time away from the road. At least that was a good thing. But she could see where he was heading. Shawn was notoriously curious about other people. He wasn’t shy in the least, the complete opposite of his mother. “Shawn, no!” But he was determined. In moments, he was in the gazebo, clambering up onto the bench, and staring right at Tye. Not shy at all. “Hi! I’m Shawn! What’s your name?” Midori ran up into the gazebo, glancing first at Shawn, then at the stranger he was interrogating. In one fluid motion, her son was back in her arms. “I’m so sorry. He gets a little excited in the rain. He didn’t bother you, did he?” Shawn squirmed, looking unhappy. He wanted to talk to the strange man. He didn’t want to be stuck with his mother.

As Tye continued to sit out on the gazebo, watching as the rain was not letting up, he heard mortals come close. There scents were sweet, and though he could control his thirst simply because he had hunted the previous day, it still made him slightly uncomfortable being so near mortals. He looked to where the sounds were coming from and saw a young boy, probably about three or four. The boy seemed to be doing the exact opposite of what his female companion had asked him to do. He had to hide a chuckle.
As he continued to mind his own, looking out away from the rambunctious child and his, babysitter, his mother, his sister? Tye didn't know what the relationship between the young boy and the young mortal were, nor did he really care, though. He tried to think about something else to get his mind of their scents, but after a few more minutes it didn't seem to help. Things only became worse when the child ran up into the gazebo unexpectedly.
Quickly moving away from the child so he wouldn't be touched, he looked down at him. He didn't seem to mind that he was sitting next to a complete stranger and began talking--more like yelling--to Tye. Tye flashed a quick smile at him and listened to him. "Hello, Shawn." he said softly before Shawn's female companion came in, looking a little flustered. "No, not at all. He seems to not know the phrase 'stranger danger'." he said to the young woman with a hint of sarcasm, or at least his attempt at sarcasm.
Tye was now trying harder than ever to keep his composure and not to jump on the two mortals. It had been the longest interaction he had had with mortals in a very long time. "I'm Tye Averill. Pleasure to meet you both." he said, not offering his hand knowing he would look rude and standoffish.

Shawn and his intense curiosity would be the death of Midori, she swore. She loved her son, she really did. But sometimes, he was a real pain in the butt. Today was one of those times. Shawn was stubborn, and routinely disobeyed. Midori found it hard to discipline, and as a result, Shawn often ran wild. One look in his face, and she practically melted. Her parents tried to help, as did her brothers, but for the most part, she was on her own. But when he ran off like he had today, Mii realized just how dangerous it could be when he didn’t listen. Tye could have been a murderer, a kidnapper. He could have snatched Shawn and run. And that was a scary thought.
Standing in front of Tye now, Midori wondered what he was thinking. Was it mean? Was he thinking what most thought, that she was dirty, irresponsible? It made her shift nervously, and bite at her lower lip. Shawn twisted in her arms and waved at Tye, the impish grin back on his face. His comment made Mii blush and stare at the ground. “No, he knows. He’s just...friendly.” Some would call it stupid. Or reckless. She felt like he was making fun of her, regardless of whether or not he was.
Tye Averill. She didn’t recognize the name, but then again, she hadn’t been in Forks all that long. Almost three years. “Hello, Tye. Um, I’m Midori Hawkins. And this is my son, Shawn.” There, she said it. Really, she was a little proud of calling him her son. She could have “gotten rid of him”, but she hadn’t. She glanced out at the rain, which seemed to be falling harder and faster. Dang. “Um... I’m really sorry, but... would it bother you if we stayed in here for a bit? It’s nasty out there.” And she didn’t want Shawn to catch cold. The little boy looked delighted at the idea. “I wanna stay with Tye.” Not that he really knew Tye. But he seemed to like him. Midori gave Shawn a warning look before glancing back at Tye again. “He’s just curious about everything, and everyone. I think it’s his age.” Tentatively, she settled on the bench across from Tye, keeping as much distance as she could between them, so as not to intrude.
[ooc – xD Okay. I thought you looked like fun to play with, and I’m testing out Shawn. xD]
